Hello! I am Marcie Hughes. I have a BA in Secondary Education with a major in Mathematics and a minor in History. I am currently working on obtaining my Masters in the Master of Arts in Education program at Michigan State University. I have taught Algebra, Advanced Algebra, and Geometry at the High School level at Battle Creek Central, Battle Creek, Michigan. I have also taught Algebra and Pre-Algebra at the middle school level at St. Gerard, in Lansing, Michigan. I have a total of 6 years of teaching experience and I have a strong interest in incorporating technology into classroom.

In the last few years I have stepped away from teaching in the classroom to focus on my family and photography business. In 2012 I started my own photography business, Marcie Kay Photography in Williamston, Michigan. After having my first child in 2013 and juggling photography, my masters program, and teaching, I realized I had to make an adjustment in my priorities. Although I am not currently teaching, I feel that education is part of who I am and I see myself teaching again in the future after my children are older.

On a personal note, I have a zest for life. I love adventure and new possibilities. I am a dreamer by nature and I continue to try to learn and grow as much as possible each day. I love to take on new opportunities and create something out of nothing. I am not afraid of changes or challenges in life, I welcome them, learn from them, and adapt. I see life as an abundance of opportunities to make things better.
